Running Review: Padmate PaMu Slide Earphones

I’m an Android girl all the way, but there is one thing I envy when it comes to Apple users – those darn AirPods. It doesn’t matter where you go you see people with them. Driving, walking down the street, running, working out – you name it and people are doing it. So when I was offered the opportunity to check out the new Padmate PaMu Slide earphones I was super excited. They were being compared to the AirPods but could be used with Apple or Android products. Sign me up!

The little guys come in their own magnetized storage box that effortlessly slides open to reveal your earphones. Once the earphones are in, they’re in, so even if your case tips over before you’ve had a chance to slide the lid shut, your earphones are safe, held in place by the anti-drop magnets. And let me tell you – those magnets work. These suckers aren’t going anywhere.

Whether you’re running, jumping, climbing, whatever, the ergonomic design of PaMu Slide earphones means they give you lasting comfort and never fall out. Most earphones assume that one size fits all. But PaMu offers 6 different sizes of ear tips: S, S+, M, M+, L, and L+. So if you want to hear your favorite tunes on that run or during that rock climb, take PaMu earphones, because the way they snugly fit into your ear means they won’t fall out. Believe me when I say that I took these suckers on the “bounce test” – running and jumping all around. They stayed put through everything.

PaMu Slide automatically pairs up with your devices, so there’s no hassle trying to configure the settings which makes me very happy. I have another pair of wireless earphones that I love but I have the WORST TIME getting them to pair with my phone. With the PaMu Slide you just open the case and they pair with your phone. Cool huh?

The earphones hold a charge for up to 10 hours and they can be charged easily with the USB-C cable that it comes with. I keep them in my car so that I have them on hand when I go to the gym, but I can also charge them if I need to. Just ten minutes of charging will give you an hours worth of use. So even if I get in the car after work and they aren’t charged up, they will be by the time I get to the gym. Also, if you pick at the PaMu Slide + the case is also a wireless charging dock.

All of the controls for the earphones are done by tapping them. It is super handy (har har), but it definitely takes some getting used to. I’ve finally gotten used to how to control the music but I haven’t tried answering a call with them. I mean really, I have enough problems running without adding talking on the phone to the list.

This product is currently on Indiegogo and has a LOT of backers. They have already sent out two batches of product and will continue to do so each week throughout the project, so you don’t have to wait too long to get them in your hot little hands. I mean waiting really is the worst part.

I give these guys an A+ for sure! I don’t listen to music while running outside, but I definitely do when I’m on the treadmill at the gym. I love these because you would surprised at how often I’ve hit the cord of my headphones and my phone has gone flying off the treadmill. I’m not the most coordinated person and the treadmill reminds me of that constantly. These work well AND they keep me safe at the gym!
